According to an incident report from the Key West Police Department, Nick Carter was arrested at Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West after he and another man, Michael Papayans of Palos Verdes Estates, California, came into the bar “heavily intoxicated” around 7 p.m.
The two men became “aggressive” after management refused them service, the police report said. Despite being asked repeatedly the former boy band singer who clearly didn’t want it that way refused to vacate the establishment. Papayans then head-butted an employee and Carter grabbed a bouncer by the throat. Both men were being held in a Monroe County jail for misdemeanor charges of battery against the bar employees, but the singer has since been released on a $1,500 bail.
Carter, who is now 35 rose to fame in the 1990s as a member of the popular band the Backstreet Boys with such hits as “As Long As You Love Me” and “Shape of Your Heart”, is not new to legal troubles. He was arrested for drunk driving back in 2005 after a night out on the town. Nick and wife Lauren Kitt made headlines recently when they announced the upcoming birth of their first child. He is due in court for these charges on February 8th at 8:30 a.m. in Key West.
