In what can only be hailed as a sign that Hillary Clinton indeed won last week’s first Presidential debate, new polls have her up significantly in several key battleground states.
The highly reputable Monmouth poll shows Clinton up 10 points in Pennsylvania taking 50%, Trump taking 40%, Johnson taking 5%, and Stein taking 2%. In another poll out of likely voters in Pennsylvania, Franklin and Marshall college found that 46% support Clinton, 38% support Trump, Johnson won a cool 5%, and Stein had no support.
The situation looks even brighter for Clinton in Colorado where a new Monmouth poll out yesterday shows Clinton up 11 points with 44% to Trump’s 33% of likely voters. The difference between the two going to Johnson who took 7% and Stein who took 3%.
In North Carolina, Clinton’s poll numbers are still within the margin of error, but definitely looking a bit brighter after new polls show her up 6 points, 3 points, and 1 point respectively against her opponent. In polls released yesterday, Quinnipiac had her up 3 points with 46% against Trump who took 43%; Bloomberg had her up 1 point with 44% against Trump’s 43% of likely North Carolina voters.
In Florida, a Quinnipiac poll out yesterday shows Clinton up 5 points with 46% to Trump’s 41%, Johnson takes 5% and Stein takes the remaining 2% of likely voters.
In yet another battleground state, Nevada seems to be leaning towards Hillary Clinton with her taking a 3 point lead and holding steady with 44% to Trump’s 41% in a new poll of likely Nevada voters out this morning.
In New Mexico, a new poll out Sunday from the Albuquerque Journal shows Clinton with a lead of 4 points, taking 35% to Trump’s 31% of likely voters. Not surprisingly, New Mexico seems to be the only state where a third party candidate is actually polling in significant numbers, with former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson taking a whopping 24% of the vote and Stein taking only a mere 2% of likely New Mexico voters.
Arguably the only good news for Trump out of polls released over the past week is a new Quinnipiac poll out yesterday showing Trump up 5 points in Ohio with 47% to Clinton’s 42% of likely voters. However, a competing poll released Wednesday morning shows Clinton up 2 points with 44% and Trump taking just 42% of likely voters.
