A neighbor said they heard at least 17 shots fired. The shooting took place in a small parking area at the edge of the park. The sixth victim was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital by private vehicle.
Three of the victims have been down graded to non-critical condition. The male victim is still listed as critical. Police said there were five females and one male that was injured in shooting. That leaves one dead, one in critical condition, one victim’s condition is unknown, and three are in non-critical.
Chelsea Roberts, a classmate and friend of the victims said of this tragedy, “It’s weird to me because I just saw her [the deceased] in the hallway today and I have a class with one of the others who were shot. It’s going to make this school year hard because when we go to class tomorrow, she won’t be there. Everything is different now.”
