Kids of the 80’s hang on to your seats, a piece of your childhood is being brought back to you. From the mind of Jim Henson and the state of the art creatures from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop ™ in a 10 episode Original Series on Netflix, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will bring you back to the world of Thra.
Set to be released in 2018, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will take place many years before the original, The Dark Crystal (1982) and bring you on an adventure of three Gelflings, who discover the horrifying secrets of the Skeksis’ power and set out to ignite the fires of rebellion and save the world. Louis Leterrie (Incredible Hulk and Now You See Me) is slated to executive produce and direct alongside executive producers Lisa Henson and Halle Standford. The series will begin filming in fall of 2017 in the U.K. Casting is currently underway.
In a press release on The Jim Henson Company website, Vice President of Original Content at Netflix has stated, “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will combine the art of puppetry perfected by The Jim Henson Company, with Louis’ vision, powerful storytelling and a mix of cutting-edge digital imagery and visual effects,”

With so many recent reboots and revivals of popular Tv shows and movies from the 80’s and the 90’s, fans are excited to see that this story is being brought back to life by the original creators.
