The character, billed as the couple’s only daughter, is named Sydney DiMera. She was last seen on screen as a pre-teen in Peacock’s 2021 holiday movie Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas.

Malakeh steps into the role after guest work on network and streaming series. Her credits listed include Grey’s Anatomy, Shrinking, Loot and The Sex Lives of College Girls.
New faces arriving in Salem
Malakeh joins several recent cast additions. Actor Brandon Butler — known for 13 Reasons Why — started on the show Sept. 1 as Mason Whitfield. Butler’s résumé also includes Hysteria! and SEAL Team.

Another newcomer, Franco LoPresti, will appear as Dante when he arrives in Salem on Sept. 14. The character is described as having connections to Sami. LoPresti previously played Cliff Marleau on a Canadian sports-romance series that was acquired by HBO Max; his other credits include Tracker and Chucky.

Days of Our Lives continues to center on storylines involving the Horton, Brady, DiMera, Kiriakis and Hernandez families, along with their extended circles. As one of the world’s longest-running scripted series, the soap reaches audiences outside the U.S., including Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, Israel and Australia.
