With the $110 billion merger now complete, attention has turned to the future of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery’s international operations. In the UK, WBD’s regional unit has struck what it calls a first-of-its-kind content partnership with broadcaster ITV, placing thousands of hours of programming onto ITVX.

A major content injection for ITVX

Beginning today, ITVX will host roughly 2,000 hours of shows from WBD-owned brands TLC and Quest. The material will appear in specially branded collections on the streamer, making a sizeable catalog available to UK audiences without rights renegotiation or new channel launches.

What’s available now — and next

At launch, the lineup includes early seasons of series such as Mock the Week (Season 1), The Bad Skin Clinic (Season 1) and Dr. Pimple Popper (Season 1). According to the announcement, Mock the Week — described as one of TLC’s most significant titles — will see its Season 2 move to ITVX next year after that season has aired elsewhere.

Quest collection and a steady drip of comedy

ITVX will also gain a Quest-branded hub in the coming months. That collection will feature entries from the Salvage Hunters and Shed & Buried franchises, together with shows including Vinnie Jones in the Country and Richard Hammond’s Workshop.

The partners say additional comedy programming will roll out through 2027, signalling a planned, multi-year content cadence rather than a one-off dump of titles.

WBD’s view

Graham Lafferty, WBD’s senior vice president for content strategy and networks, framed the deal as a way to widen ITVX’s appeal. He said: “The combination of TLC’s local comedy originals and global reality franchises brings something to the platform for every user, whether it’s the return of Mock the Week, brand-new Unacceptable hosted by Ed Gamble, or some of our hugely successful global franchises.”

Industry context and corporate reshuffling

UK broadcasters have faced repeated calls to consolidate or strike deeper partnerships to compete with global streamers. ITV already runs a content-swap arrangement with Disney+, and this agreement with WBD follows that trend of strategic licensing rather than direct expansion.

The move also arrives amid speculation about how the newly merged conglomerate will reorganize its international footprint. Yesterday, industry executive Ynon Kreiz — formerly of Endemol Group and Fox Kids Europe — was named co-CEO of the soon-to-expand media group, a leadership change that could influence future distribution and partnership decisions.
