Lachlan Murdoch’s total pay fell to $31 million for fiscal 2026, the company disclosed in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing released Thursday. The document also sets Fox Corp.’s annual shareholder meeting date and frames executive pay amid the company’s ongoing push into streaming and other new ventures.
Details from the SEC filing
The filing shows Lachlan Murdoch received a base salary of $3 million, with the remainder of his compensation coming from bonuses, stock and option awards, non-equity incentive-plan payouts and other items. His overall package declined from about $33 million in the prior fiscal year.

Fox’s president and chief operating officer, John Nallen, was the second-highest paid executive. Nallen’s total compensation rose to $18.1 million, up from $15.3 million in fiscal 2025.
Where Fox stands strategically
Executives point to strong demand for live sports and news as a key reason Fox has held up despite falling linear TV viewing. Those programs have helped stabilize revenue, the company says.

Still, investors have expressed caution. Fox’s shares have dropped about 11% so far in 2026, a decline the filing attributes to broader uncertainty in the media sector.
Under Murdoch’s leadership, Fox has broadened its digital footprint. In August the company launched the subscription streamer Fox One, positioned alongside the free, fast-growing service Tubi. Management has also expanded into podcasting and creator-focused initiatives.
Signaling a larger strategic bet, Fox proposed a roughly $22 billion acquisition of Roku in June. The deal is intended to strengthen the company’s control over streaming distribution and is expected to close in the first half of 2027.
Annual meeting set for November
The same SEC filing names November 4 as the date for Fox Corp.’s annual shareholder meeting. The session will be held virtually and is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
