Solidarity with nature, an Easter message | The Jakarta Post

Indonesian Christians will be thinking green this week — this year’s Easter theme is the environment. Our environmental problems have contributed to various humanitarian problems as well. Church scholars describe the events of Holy Tuesday in ancient times as the calm before the storm after Jesus revealed to His shrinking ranks of followers the impending betrayal by two of His trusted apostles while rumors of His impending arrest swirled over Jerusalem within days of His triumphant return to the city.Biblical accounts look up to the Mount of Olives, a mountain draped with olive trees and nestled in the eastern part of Jerusalem, as the sacred place where Jesus spent most of His devotional life as man.

The Mount of Olives is said to be the exact location where the Son of God made known to His disciples on Holy Tuesday the treachery about to be carried out by Simon Peter and Judas Iscariot, head and treasurer, respectively, of the 12 apostles.
