The Pacific Islands Online Community – Polynesia, Australasia, Micronesia, Melanesia

This is a great project that needs help. They need expertise in preserving and documenting their Pacific heritage for future generations.

The website is a non profit project designed to build an online database of our Pacific cultures. This is a huge task and requires the help of the entire Pacific Community. www.thepacific.co.nz is currently looking for members who are interested in helping add more content. We are looking for people who have a real dedication to preserving and documenting their Pacific heritage for future generations.

  ‘Honey laundering,’ the authorities call it.
  
  As the name suggests, honey laundering involves disguising drums of the sticky stuff from China by selling it to a third party—usually a distributor in another part of the world—then re-packaging it and re-exporting it, so that its source remains unknown.
  
  According to an investigation by the Seattle Post Intelligencer, several tons of Chinese honey have this year passed through ports in Tacoma, Washington, and Long Beach, California, after being fraudulently repackaged as the product of Russia.
