The tensions and troubles that exist between the Muslim, Christian and Judaic worlds today stem primarily from the period of the Crusades. Scattered throughout Syria are immense Crusader castles, including that of Saladin, whose walls practically reek of the cultural biases that became entrenched back then and have been festering ever since. This is hugely ironic given that all three faiths are rooted in the tradition of Abraham, but then brothers and sisters can have very serious squabbles.
