JVC to bail out of domestic TV market

Victor Company of Japan Ltd. (JVC), a pioneer in the early days of television, will likely become the first major TV manufacturer to withdraw from the domestic home TV market, sources said Wednesday.

The company has decided that it will be difficult to improve profitability in the Japanese TV market amid fierce price competition for flat-screen TVs, the sources said.
