For Japan whale meat is more important than the law!
Greenpeace demands Japan release whale activists
OTTAWA – Greenpeace staged a protest outside the Japanese embassy in Ottawa on Monday to deliver a letter demanding the release of two activists – dubbed the Tokyo Two – being held overseas.
Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki were arrested for allegedly stealing a box of whale meat after presenting one to a public prosecutor as evidence against a supposed embezzlement ring at the heart of the Japanese government’s scientific whaling program.
Japanese police conducted an unprecedented raid on Greenpeace’s Japanese headquarters in Tokyo and the homes of activists earlier this month, the environmental organization said in a news release.
